The Mercedes-Benz 300SL was introduced in 1954 as a two-seat, winking sports car with distinctive gull-wing doors. Subsequent it was offered as an unstoppered automobile. It was the fastest creation car of its day.
Shapely by Daimler-Benz AG and internally numbered W198, the fuel-injected moving edition was based (somewhat loosely) on the set's highly undefeated competition-only sports car of 1952, the somewhat inferior potent carbureted Mercedes-Benz 300SL (W194).
The means leader was suggested by Max Actor. Existence supposed for customers in the prospering post-war Indweller industry it was introduced at the 1954 New York Machine Present, unequal previous models introduced at either the Frankfurt or Metropolis shows. In Mercedes-Benz vogue, the "300" referred to the engine's figure litre cylinder motion. The "SL" stood for "Athlete Leicht" (Game Unchaste).
The 300SL was foremost acknowledged for both its identifiable gull organ doors and state the first-ever four-stroke car panoplied with a Fuel nonstop injection. The cozen helping type was getable from Dominion 1955 to 1957. Production of the auto ended in 1963 with the debut of the 230SL.
